Pictures from Harvard 2006

It may surprise some of you, but I graduated from Harvard. It was ten years ago, on a Thursday in June 1996. For the first time in about 5 years, I returned to Cambridge, this time to attend my tenth reunion. My brother and sister-in-law were kind enough to shelter me, but they're in the process of moving and I didn't want to post photos of boxes and stuff. Instead, I decided to give you a tour. There are a few photos from the reunion, but most of the pictures are important places from my college years.

The John Harvard statue, though it's really just someone dressed like him.

Not all the memorials at Harvard are really old.

The elegant Saturday night formal. Well, elegant except for the muddy ground underneath.

The Science Center, home of the statistics department.

Inside the Science Center. I took more classes here than in any other building.

St. Paul's Catholic Church. In 1994 and 1995 I served as usher for the 7:30 AM Mass.

The 7:30 may surprise you who know my current schedule.
IMG_0790.JPG
I spent a lot of time here too.

Memorial Church (different from Memorial Hall). The pews are padded and a nice quiet place for between-class naps.

Mather House, my dorm for the last three years.

It's less pretty than most of the campus, but easily defensible in case of invasion.
IMG_0796.JPG
I lived in the tower, with great views of the Charles River.
IMG_0798.JPG
The views were like this one.

And this one, looking across to Harvard Business School.

Eventually, I had to head back to Chicago. I miss Harvard.
