Pictures from Providence 2006

Thanks to Southwest Airlines, it's a lot cheaper to fly from Chicago Midway to Providence than to Boston. I took my money from the Physical Sciences Teaching Prize, and spent the day Friday in Rhode Island. I got to visit my seventh Ivy League school. In case you were wondering about the order, I saw Penn, Princeton, Cornell, Harvard, Yale, and Columbia before Brown, with Dartmouth remaining. You can click on a thumbnail for a larger version of the photo.

I remember New York, Sacramento, Reno, San Diego, and Chicago.

That's not Roger Williams on the dome roof. It's Independent Man.

Maybe the art was a "gift" from RISD.

Graduate housing is never pretty. Some schools label their buildings, unlike Chicago.

Brown is quite nice, but there are little things that the O.C. will have to clean before filming.

Overall, it's got advantages over Chicago, like this awesome motto on the state flag.
