Pictures from Christmastime 2005

Over Christmas break, I took a drive down to Bal-Wash, the name for the giant urban area containing Baltimore and Washington, though it's not Asimov's Caves of Steel. Yet. I went mostly to close out my old bank account and transfer those funds to my current one. A great added benefit was touring the memorials and hanging out with folks from my past. In at least one case, an eight year past. And in another case, a small goodess of destruction I met for the first time.

Potomac
A pretty shot over the Potomac at about 4:20 PM.
Ethics
Jack Abramoff copies my style, but not my ethics.
Bread line
The famous bread line wall from the FDR Memorial.
DC Memorial
The District of Columbia World War Memorial. Dedicated in 1931, that means World War I. There are many of these little known places in the district.
Security
The black helicopters can now circle openly.
WW2 Long shot
A long shot of the World War II Memorial, my first sighting. It's much less intrusive than I feared, and doesn't look out of place.
Pacific
One end, interestingly to the South, not the West.
Interior
The interior of the memorial. The pool is drained.
Lights
Little lights, which represent something, I'm sure. Maybe I should read the flyer.
Atlantic
The other end of the memorial.
Vietnam
Adam at the big John Kerry date spot.
Lincoln
This is really just restoration, so construct your own joke about the Bush administration.
Dave
Dave, after placing his daughter in the seat.
Catriona
Catriona (pronounced Katrina) and Yazmine, her mother.
Yaz/Bea
Yazmine and Beatrice, who was not fully expecting the photo.
Bea/Adam
Beatrice was ready for this one, and looks great.
Tree day
Bea was proud of her thin, natural tree, so I had to capture it.
Tree night
It's impressive enough for a night photo, too.
Baltimore
Baltimore, which has big ships.
Moh
Two college roommates, Adam and Moh, before the kumate.
