We adore you, Christ, and we praise you.
Because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the World.

Matthew, chapter 25, verses 37 to 40. Then the righteous will answer him, "Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?" And the king will answer them, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end.

We know little about Veronica, save from tradition, and her one small act of compassion. She literally saw and touched the face of God. Lord, grant us the compassion to see the face of God in every human being, but particularly in the weakest and most vulnerable, the hungry, the thirsty, the prisoners, the sick. Help us to act like Veronica, caring for those in need.
